Does anyone know if the 10.2.2 release is a full release? And if so, can we expect the FlexLM and Licence Manager to be backward cmpatable as it is now with 10.2.1?

Has anyone encountered error code 2709 during ArcGIS 10.2.1 installation? As I initiate the ArcGIS Desktop installer it immediately interrupts with the following message "error code 2709, The specified Component name (") not found in component table."
A little web research suggests this is related to a corrupt registry but after repairing my registry the error still comes up.
Any help is much appreciated.
I'm running Windows 8.1 and have Net Framework 3.5 activated.

Ok, trying to install ArcGIS 10.2 onto my lab computers. We recently had our computer reimaged to Win7, and for the master image file, I installed 10.2 using the single license use code that my school district has.

After all the computers in the lab (25 of them) were reimaged with the master image, none of the computers will run the program, other than the original computer. I keep getting an "Untrusted" authorization.

I have tried to reauthorize using the same access code, but the installation tell me that the components have already been authorized. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it is still untrusted. My GIS contacts in the school district don't have any ideas.

Can anyone provide some ideas or a solution? I can't imagine I am the first one who has tried to distribute using an computer image.

Version: Oracle 11.2, ArcGIS 10.2.

Background: Database performance has been evaluated and checks out ok. Client machines deliver adequate performance. No network related issues exist.

Problem: When initially connecting to the database, information for many thousands of tables in the database gets loaded on client (listed in ArcCatalog). This is slow. I want to only show the objects for the specific user account that's being used to connect, as a client side configuration, without modifying the Oracle user account configuration (grants).

Test case: Connection time is about 1.5 minutes for a database user with "select any table" privileges. For database users without "select any table", connection takes less than 10 seconds to finish.

Is this possible? For example, parameter in the connection string, a checkbox somewhere, etc?

Is there a way to identify which user(s) are currently using ArcGIS Desktop concurrent licenses? I have a periodic need to get everyone out of a geodatabase and now have to go to various offices to determine who has the database open in a map.

Can we get emails when new service packs or patches are available?
Are their settings available somewhere to get email for specific versions of ArcGIS software updates or patches?
For example, the SP1 for Version 10.1 has been removed to fix an error.
Can we get an email when it is available?

Hello,

I have an old 2009 13" Macbook with the specs you see below, and am trying to install ArcGIS 10.1 onto a Windows 8 virtual machine (Parallels 9).

2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (P8600)
Base Memory: 2GB PC3-8500 SODIMM
Max Memory: 6GB
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 9400M (256MB RAM)
Base Storage: 160GB 5400RPM SATA 2.5"
Optical Drive: 8x DL Superdrive

Anyways, 3/4 of the way through installation I get this error message:

"Error 1311. Source file not found:
\\psf/Esri/Desktop/setup1.cab. Verify this file exists and that you can access it".

However, this "setup1" file is clearly present on the installation disc I was provided. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?

I have completed the download, installation and authorisation of ArcGIS 10 for Desktop.

When I try to open ArcMap (or any other) I get the error message that I am not authorised to use Arc Editor.

I have retried the authorisation process (with my EVA authorisation number) but still received the same message.

Any ideas/suggestions?Arc Editor

Dear All,

I have installed ArcGIS (student edition) last year and the license will expire in a week.
Now, I enroll in another GIS course which give me a new ArcGIS CD with one year license.
So, should I uninstall the ArcGIS in my computer and conduct a new installation using my new ArcGIS CD? or
Can I just update my license by inputting the new serial number?

I'm doing an installation on a new computer and so far have installed ArcGIS for Desktop 10 and service pack 5. I then tried to install the most recent version of Districting and got the error,

Districting for ArcGIS requires ArcGIS 10.2/10.2.x for Desktop

Do I really need to uninstall service pack 5, install service pack 2, and then install Districting? Will service pack 5 install safely on top of that?

We have an Windows 7 Application Farm environment consisting of 25 separate machines with identical Windows 7 images loaded with applications such as Petrel, TechLog and ArcGIS.

In order to create a consistent user experience we test service pack upgrades on 1 machine and once approved, propagate the image of that machine to all of the other machines.

This poses a problem in that some of the applications have a faster rate of upgrades than others.

For example updates to some of our ArcGIS Toolbars, supplied by 3rd party vendors, occur every 2 weeks.

This is much faster than the tests for other software applications can be done.

Can ArcGIS support deployment of AddIns located on a central directory (UNC Path) ?

Hi,

We are testing out a new install of ArcGIS 10.1.

We are experiencing an issue with the Layout Toolbar.
It does not seem to show up ?

I have gone into menu Customize->Toolbars-> and have clicked on the "Layout".
It will be checked when I go back in ... but no new Toolbar displays ?
I have tried repeatedly, toggling off and on ... but no luck.

Any advice or suggestions ?

I have some custom .style files on the UNC path that I would like to load automatically when ArcMap opens. I have not been able to find the right registry key to get the .style files loaded.

I have tried: HKLM|Software|wow6432Node|esri|desktop10.2|Coreruntime|styledir with the value pointing to the folder with my custom .style files, but it didn't work ( value:c:\program files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.2\Styles;<my unc path> ) .

How do I set this up?

We are facing problem in sending the authorize to ESRI using internet. When we try to authorize the license for Arcgis 10.0 desktop application we get an error as "Unable to send your authorization information to ESRI via the internet. Please check your internet connection and try again."

The firewall is disabled on the system and as well as the internet connection.

Anyone have come across this issue please let us know how it needs to be resolved.

One very important note that should be included on the DVD packets.

1. First Copy the contents of the ArcGIS for Desktop 10.2.1 DVD to your hard drive.
2. Run esri.exe as Administrator.

If you don't do step 1 and try to run Setup from the DVD you will be repeatedly asked to insert Disk 1. You don't have a disk one so Installation cannot run to finish.

We currently have ArcGIS 10.0 installed on several Citrix servers. We are planning to upgrade to 10.2, and have installed it on a test server. When the users launch ArcMap 10.2, their existing 10.0 settings are not imported. The program creates a new set of default 10.2 settings instead.

Is there a way to have ArcMap import the previous settings when it's launched?

I have a Dell win8 i7 16gb ram 64bit OS and I am an administrator on the local machine and the network.

When I install 10.1 and 10.2 everything installs without errors. I authorize the software with one of the keys we have. Then when I run the ARCMap software I get the:

Arcgis desktop has encountered a serious application error and is unable to continue.

I installed 10.1 got the error so I installed 10.2 and got the same error.
Then I installed 10.2.1 and now when I run the software nothing happens.
The program will show the splash screen:
Initializing license
Initializing application
Loading documents

Then it goes away and nothing else ever shows up on the screen.

Please help! I am trying to set up the computer for our new GIS person and they will not be happy if it doesn't work soon.

Is anyone out there using ArcGIS Desktop 10.2 in a virtual desktop environment? We're using VMware and Unidesk to create our desktops, which are 32bit Windows 7 Enterprise systems. We're exploring the possibility of deploying ArcGIS into that environment. Haven't found much in the way of documentation in the ESRI knowledge base.

Thanks in advance for any information you may have, good or bad.

The ArcGIS 10.2.2 components are now posting to the Customer Care Portal.

The ArcGIS License Manager 10.2.2 installs over top of the 10.2 and 10.2.1 builds with no apparent issues.

The services.txt configuration file was retained unchanged, and existing FlexNet Publisher fulfillment cache was picked up with out issue including support for CityEngine 2013.1 SR.

At this release, Esri continues use of FlexNet Publisher lmgrd.exe license manger daemon using v11.11.1.2 of _libFNP.dll, as does the ARCGIS.exe FNP vendor daemon.

All ArcGIS LSAdmin 10.2.2 components run with out issue if using the current Flexera FNP release 11.12.1 builds--available here: http://www.globes.com/support/fnp_ut...s_download.htm

At first glance no major changes/enhancements to the LSAdmin GUI, and the service continues to behave when managed from the alternative LMTOOLS GUI (necessary when multiple FNP based license managers coexist of a server).

In short this should be mostly painless for folks.
