New to and learning ArcGIS. Installed Desktop 10.2.2 without geodatabase option. Later doing tutorials, decided to install. Followed guidance for geodatabase software install in "A quick tour of the database servers tutorial" with one exception. Not understanding how to access the ArcSDE for SQL Server Express Installation wizard after ArcGIS is installed, downloaded and installed SQL Server 2012 Express from Microsoft site. Downloaded and installed SQL Server Express 2012 Native Client from my ESRI account.
Was able to add this new server in ArcGis Desktop to the Catalog. However, not able to create new geodatabase. Receive error message "application is not licensed to perform this operation."
Can this arrangement of SQL Server 2012 Express be fixed to work with ArcGIS? Or do I have to reinstall everything?
Have Advanced license. Windows 7 personal computer with full admin authority and all .net and other system requirements for SQL server installed.
