Hi -
I just downloaded a 180-day trial version of ArcGIS 10.1 for the textbook GIS Tutorial Basic Workbook 1. I am having trouble with the authorization wizard. Several times when I have tried to open it, I receive the error message "authorization wizard has stopped working." The one time I was able to walk through the authorization wizard, following textbook instructions and utilizing the authorization code printed in the back of the textbook, it says the authorization has failed.
If I try to open ArcGIS 10.1, the loading intro screen flashes into appearance for a second and then disappears. Sometimes it does not appear at all. I understand that I will need to successfully complete authorization to utilize 10.1, but I find it odd that ArcMap wouldn't open and then notify me I need to authorize my license. So - sensing a problem there, too.
I'm utilizing split hard drive (dualboot) on a MacBook Pro. I am running Windows 7 Home, I believe Home Professional. I've utilized dualboot for a while, with Autodesk products/AutoCAD with no problem thus far. Please help! :)
Best,
Gina
